Official Okotoks Dawgs News Release
The Okotoks Dawgs dropped their third game of the season, losing 5-4 in extra innings to the Regina Red Sox.
The offence came alive in the third inning when they scored three runs but they failed to generate any more offence until the 11th.
The Red Sox put the pressure on in the 12 and came away with the victory.
Right-hander Zach Robinson (Kamloops, B.C.) had a strong performance pitching four innings, and allowing one run while striking out three.
Relief pitching allowed the Red Sox to come alive late and push the game to extras. Cade Hermann earned his first loss of the season as the Red Sox swept the series in Regina.
The Dawgs’ offence was led early by Noah Geekie (Strathclair, Man.) who finished 2-for-6 with two RBIs. Brendan Luther (Mississauga, Ont.) and Connor Barnett each finished with an RBI.
The Dawgs will face the 57s in Swift Current on Thursday night before heading out to Lethbridge to round out their nine-game road trip.
The Dawgs will return to Seaman Stadium for the annual “Father’s Day” Extravaganza on Sunday.
