Veteran left-hander Travis Seabrooke has retired.

The Winnipeg Goldeyes made the announcement on Thursday.

The 28-year-old, Peterborough, Ont., native had spent the last four of his 10 pro seasons with the Goldeyes, collecting 23 wins.

Last season, he was named to the American Association West Division All-Star Team, finishing the campaign with an 8-3 record and a 3.63 ERA in 109 innings in 21 appearances (17 starts).

Seabrooke also tied an American Association record when he made 60 relief appearances for the Goldeyes in 2022.

In 2021 and 2022, he was used exclusively as a reliever by the Goldeyes before being converted into a starter in 2023.

An Ontario Terriers and Junior National Team grad, Seabrooke was selected in the fifth round of the 2013 MLB draft by the Baltimore Orioles out of Crestwood Secondary School in Peterborough, Ont. He toed the rubber for parts of six seasons in the O’s organization, making it to the High-A level.

Seabrooke has also pitched for Canada’s senior national team on several occasions, including at the WBSC Americas Pan Am Games Qualifier in Buenos Aires, Argentina in June 2023. In his only start at that tournament, he surrendered just two hits in Canada’s 10-0, five-inning victory over Honduras.
