Seabrooke tosses scoreless inning in Goldeyes' loss

OCONOMOWOC, WI – The Winnipeg Goldeyes (5-4) dropped a 6-5 decision to the Lake Country DockHounds Sunday afternoon at Wisconsin Brewing Company Park as the home side rallied to take the three-game series between the two clubs.
Lake Country (5-4) scored twice with two out in the bottom of the ninth inning on a single up the middle by Daikan Yoh to win the ballgame.
The Goldeyes had taken a 5-4 lead in the top of the inning when Raul Navarro singled home Kevin Lachance.
The DockHounds broke a scoreless tie in the bottom of the second inning when Giovanni Brusa doubled off the wall in centre field to score Blake Berry. The next batter, Lamar Briggs, hit a two-run home run to right field to make it 3-0.
Lachance scored on a balk in the top of the third inning to pull Winnipeg within a pair before David Washington led off the fifth frame with his fourth home run of the season to make the score 3-2 Lake Country.
The DockHounds re-gained their two-run lead in the bottom of the sixth inning when Briggs homered to right field for the second time on the afternoon.
The Goldeyes tied the game at 4-4 in the top of the eighth on a two-run double down the left field line by Deon Stafford Jr. that knocked in Ian Sagdal and Washington.
Erasmo Pinales (0-1) was charged with the loss for Winnipeg, allowing two runs on two hits in 2/3 of an inning. Duncan Snider (2-1) was credited with the victory, despite surrendering the go-ahead run in the top of the ninth inning.
Travis Seabrooke (Peterborough, Ont.) tossed a scoreless eighth inning in relief for the Goldeyes.
Winnipeg now travels to Sioux Falls, South Dakota for a four-game series against the Canaries that opens at Sioux Falls Stadium Monday at 7:05 p.m. Southpaw Alex Manasa (0-0, 1.80) is scheduled to start for the Goldeyes against right-hander Angel Landazuri (0-1, 6.23).
