PORTLAND, Ore. – The University of San Francisco earned a 4-0 win over Portland Sunday afternoon. The win gives the Don the 3-0 sweep in the series and it also helps them to remain the only undefeated team in the WCC at 6-0.

Unlike game one and game two’s quick start from the Dons, today was a bit slower. The action didn’t start until the fourth inning. With one out and one runner on board, Michael Perri stepped up to the plate and hit a homer down the left field line. Perri’s homerun, his fourth of the year, gave the Dons a 2-0 lead.

Landon Bourassa (Lethbridge, Alta.) pitched seven scoreless to move to 4-0.

The Dons added two insurance runs to get the sweep on the series. One run came in the seventh inning off a sac bunt from Aaron Ping, followed by a run from Perri who reached home plate off Ross Puskarich’s single.

Scott Parker and Brendan Jenkins came in to finish off the game, each pitching one inning and giving up a combined one hit.

COACH’S QUOTES
“I’m very excited by the way Landon Bourassa pitched today. He had seven strong innings. Parker and Jenkins had great innings as well to close it out. Mike Perri really picked us up with the early homerun and then we had great execution by Winkler, Ping and Puskarich to give us a 4-0 lead. It’s always good to get wins on the road. I’m happy for the team.”
