Yangervis Solarte has been formally activated off the disabled list and was in the Blue Jays' lineup, batting seventh and playing second base in Sunday’s series finale against the Cleveland Indians.

One of only four Blue Jays with 100 hits in 2018 (101). Solarte slashed .233/.287/.397 with 37 extra-base hits over 471 plate appearances prior to sustaining an oblique strain in early August.

His 17 home runs on the season are one shy of a career high established in 2017 as a member of the San Diego Padres.

In 111 games with Toronto, the versatile 30-year-old product of Valencia, Venz. has split time at all four infield positions while also getting into a handful of games as the clubs designated hitter.

Solarte was hitless in the Blue Jays 6-2 win over the Indians as Justin Smoak hit his 24th homer and Teoscar Hernandez hit his 20th homer.

The Blue Jays active roster now sits at 36 players.
