HAMILTON - Left-handed pitcher Tanner Guindon (Brantford, Ont.) returns for his seventh IBL season, and his fourth in Hamilton. Last season saw Guindon return to Hamilton after three seasons in Brantford and he pitched in 21 games with a 1-3 record with an ERA of 2.91 and picked up a save.
In Guindon's IBL career he has made 125 appearances, pitched 193 2/3 innings with a 10-10 record, 169 strikeouts, 8 saves and a career ERA of 3.90.
"Tanner returned last year and did not disappoint. He came in and helped us establish a quality bullpen. He pitched a lot and on short rest and gave the team everything he had each game. An ERA of under 3.00 is very good in this league and he did just that. He also was a great teammate and understands his role in the pen while also helping other's adjust to that role. We are so happy to have Tanner return again this year", stated Hamilton Cardinals GM Jeff Lounsbury
"It was an easy decision to re-sign in Hamilton for the 2020 season,” said Guindon. “Front office and ownership have shown and proven to be committed to putting a championship caliber product on the field and I couldn't be more excited to be apart of this organization for the upcoming season. I can't wait to get started!“
The Cardinals open the season on the road on May 10 against the Toronto Maple Leafs. They return to face Toronto on their home opener on May 22.
The Hamilton Cardinals are a member of Ontario's most elite baseball league, the Intercounty Baseball League. The 100-year old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, with the league established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
