Terriers' alum Gomm named All-American

Infielder Austin Gomm(Georgetown, Ont.) has been named a National Junior College Athletic Association Division II First Team All-American.

The former Terriers and Junior National Team shortstop hit .455 with 20 home runs and 58 RBIs as the Parkland Cobras posted a 46-win season.

His batting average led the team and his 20 home runs were a new program single-season record, which was previously held by Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Kevin Kiermaier.

In addition to the All-American honour, Gomm was named to the All-Region 24 Team and the All-Mid-West Athletic Conference First Team.

When it came to weekly accolades, he was named the Terriers College Player of the Week three times and the Canadian Baseball Network College Player of the Week once.

In April, he committed to further his academic and baseball career at Louisiana State University Shreveport.
