Three Ontario Terriers were recently invited to the Baseball Canada Junior National Team Fall Instructional Camp.
Outfielders Cameron Chee-Aloy and Keegan O'Hearn, along with catcher Hugh Pinkney will head to Dunedin, Fla., for daily workouts and intrasquad games from October 14 to October 23.
TD Ballpark, Spring Training home of the Toronto Blue Jays, will play host to Team Canada over the 10 days. They will also play a pair of seven-inning games on October 19 at Division I Stetson University against the Hatters. In total, 35 players from across the country will take part.
Chee-Aloy was a member of the Junior National Team during their recent trip to Florida where they played a seven-game Friendship Series against the USA. For O'Hearn and Pinkney, it will be their first time representing Canada.
"These are three very talented baseball players and we are excited for them to be able to wear Canada across their chest," Dean Dicenzo, Terriers 18U manager said. "They are all key members of our organization and we know they will represent us well."
With the 2021 World Baseball Softball Confederation U-18 World Cup recently being rescheduled to September 2022, the camp will provide the Canadian coaching staff with their first look at some of the players who could potentially make up the 20-player roster for the event.
