Terriers' College Player of the Week: Austin Gomm

Austin Gomm (Georgetown, Ont.) has found his groove this season for Parkland College.

Take his performance last week as an example.

Gomm started off with a 3-for-4 game with a walk and an RBI in a 23-11 loss to Southwestern Illinois. He followed it up with another three hits and an RBI during a 9-8 loss to Carl Sandburg.

The Cobras got in the win column with a 9-4 victory over Rock Valley, a game in which Gomm had a hit, a walk and an RBI.

To close out the week, he went 2-for-3 with a home run as his team took down Kirkland 4-2.

Of his nine total hits, four were doubles.

Honourable Mentions

Lefty Connor O'Halloran (Mississauga, Ont.) threw eight innings and allowed an unearned run on six hits in a 7-5, 10 inning University of Michigan win over the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He walked one and struck out 12.

Right-hander Ben Abram (Georgetown, Ont.) of the No. 13 Oklahoma State Cowboys shut down Arizona State University with six innings of work. Abram gave up three runs on five hits, while walking two and striking out eight in a 7-4 victory.

Sam Worthen (Guelph, Ont.) earned his second save for D'Youville with a scoreless inning in a 4-2 win over Davis & Elkins.

Kyle Nash (Ancaster, Ont.) made a scoreless appearance in D'Youville's next game, a 12-6 loss to Minnesota-Crookston.

Utah's Elijha Hammill (Oakville, Ont.) collected a pair of hits, walked twice, drove in three and stole a base in four games played.

Matt Brown (Oakville, Ont.) picked up his second win of the season for St. Petersburg College with seven strong innings. He scattered 10 hits, allowed three runs (one earned) and struck out five.

Zach Marriott (Oakville, Ont.) had a big week for Hendrix College, producing six hits, two walks, three RBIs and four stolen bases. In a 12-2 Game 3 win over Sewanee ,he was 3-for-4 with two doubles, a triple, a walk, three RBIs and two stolen bases.

Catcher Matt Ward (Mississauga, Ont.) had three hits and an RBI in three games for Niagara University.
