Terriers RHP/INF Dylan Oborne has had his sights set on becoming a Florida Atlantic Owl for a while.
"Florida Atlantic has been a school that I’ve been interested in since I was 15," Oborne said.
It's no longer just an interest for him now as he committed to FAU last week.
He chose the school for a number of reasons, one of which was familiarity.
"The campus is 20 minutes away from family and during my vacations to Florida I’ve had many opportunities to check out and visit the campus, watch games, and attend baseball showcases." he said. "Committing to FAU was a no-brainer for me as it’s always been a dream of mine to play baseball and study south of the border and what better place than FAU."
18U manager Dean Dicenzo describes Oborne as an extremely driven baseball player that can play multiple positions and drives the ball with power to all fields. On the mound his fastball sits in the upper 80's and can climb into the low 90's.
He will be studying business at FAU.
The Owls compete in the highly competitive Conference USA and finished 32-25 in 2021.
