Ontario Terriers RHP/INF Zachary Saufl has announced his commitment to the Vanguard University of Southern California.

The palm tree-lined campus is located in sunny Costa Mesa, just a few miles from the Pacific Ocean.

He is a versatile athlete that can pitch, play on both corners and is a power threat every time he steps in the box. He has a tremendous work ethic and is a great teammate who can always be relied upon to do whatever his coaches ask of him, no matter the situation.

Vanguard University is a private, Christian, comprehensive university of liberal arts and professional studies equipping students for a Spirit-empowered life. The Lions opened 2019 with a nine game winning streak on their way to a 31-20 overall record. They were 21-6 in 2020 before the shut-down. Over 60 Lions have gone on to play professional baseball.

Saufl attends King's Christian Collegiate where he has been on the honour roll and the student council all four years. He has also captained the baseball team for the past two years. He has received the Dean's Academic/Athletic Scholarship at Vanguard University, where he will be studying Education/ Sports Psychology.
