Another week of the college baseball season is in the books.

Five Ontario Terriers graduates had fine performances for their respective schools from February 14 to February 20.

Ellis and O'Halloran make first starts

A pair of Terrier southpaws made their first college starts over the weekend.

Campbell Ellis got the ball in the VCU Rams season opener. Ellis threw three scoreless innings, allowing a pair of hits. He walked three and struck out four in a 7-6 loss to Rider.

Connor O'Halloran toed the rubber at Globe Life Field for Michigan in their finale of the State Farm College Baseball Showdown Sunday night against Oklahoma. The former Canadian Junior National Team hurler gave up three runs (two earned) on three hits, with four walks and five strikeouts over 4 2/3 innings of work. Unfortunately, he ended up taking the loss in the 6-1 decision.

Mahoney makes the most of light week

Lake Michigan College played just two games last week but Jacob Mahoney managed to collect a hit in both. The sophomore infielder had a hit and drove in a run in the Red Hawks’ 17-4 loss to Lake Land. He then helped his team to victory with a hit, a walk, an RBI and three runs scored in a 19-7 win over National Park.

Brown back at it

Reliable would be a good word to describe right-hander Matt Brown so far in his young college career. Frontier Community College handed him the ball in their opener versus UA Rich Mountain and he delivered six innings in a 7-4 win. He surrendered three runs and struck out six. It ended up being the only victory of the four-game set for the Bobcats.

O'Halloran a bright spot for Butler

It certainly wasn't the start to the season the Butler Bulldogs had in mind as they dropped all three-games of their series with Murray State by a combined score of 49-17. Despite the rough start, they did get solid production out of former Terriers infielder Ryan O'Halloran. The Orange Coast College Pirates transfer had three hits, two walks, a stolen base and was hit by a pitch.
