TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama’s Owen Diodati (Niagara Falls, Ont.), Tommy Seidl and Drew Williamson were selected to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 4 First Team for baseball, the organization announced Thursday.

The CoSIDA Academic All-America program recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined academic and athletic performances. As first-team selections, the Tide trio advances to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot. Academic All-America honorees for a first, second and third team will be announced in June.

The threesome are part of 18 Crimson Tide baseball players to earn all-district recognition and gives UA at least one all-district honoree in each of the last three seasons (Chase Lee in 2021 and Kolby Robinson in 2020). Prior to Robinson’s selection in 2020, Alabama had not had an Academic All-District Team member since 2011.

In all, Alabama has had nine players earn Academic All-America honors since 1972, including first-team honorees Dr. Jeff Laubenthal (1993), Lance Cormier (2002) and Emeel Salem (2006, 2007).
