Titans select Towers in Frontier League Draft

The Ottawa Titans have selected Charlie Towers in the second round of the independent Frontier League draft which took place on April 24.

The soon-to-be 23-year-old Towers (Toronto, Ont.) is an infielder who batted .218 with 10 RBIs in 24 games for the Intercounty Baseball League’s Hamilton Cardinals in 2023. He had recently signed with the IBL’s Toronto Maple Leafs for the 2024 campaign.

Prior to this, the 6-foot, 175-pound Towers was a student athlete at the University of Fraser Valley and Humber College.

Towers also played two seasons in the Western Canadian Baseball League with the Sylvan Lake Gulls (2021) and Fort McMurray Giants (2022).

The Titans made four selections in the draft. Here’s a summary:

Training camp is set to begin today for the Titans.

Including Towers, there are six Canadians in the Titans’ camp: RHP Conor Angel (Pointe-Claire, Que.), C Carson Barker (Alliston, Ont.), LHP Evan Grills (Whitby, Ont.), Jake Sanford (Cole Harbour, N.S.) and Taylor Wright (North Vancouver, B.C.).
