The Okotoks Dawgs rolled into Sylvan Lake on Wednesday night and earned a 2-1 victory over the Gulls.

With the victory, the Dawgs win the season series 7-3 and move to 35-12 on the season. They are now two games up on the Gulls and sit in first place in the WCBL’s West division with nine games remaining in the regular season.

Offensively, Connor Crowson (Okotoks, Alta.) had a hit to extend his hitting streak to five games, while Trent Lenihan (White Rock, B.C.) went 2-for-4 with an RBI tonight to extend his hitting streak to six games.

On the mound, Brock Townsend started and tossed four scoreless innings, while striking out five batters. Logan Rumburg (Okotoks, Alta.) then permitted only one run on four hits in four innings of relief. Seth Thompson (Calgary, Alta.) tossed a scoreless ninth to earn the save.

The Dawgs will now return to Seaman Stadium on Thursday to take on the Fort McMurray Giants in the first game of a three-game series.
