What would you like to say about head coach Chris Pritchett?
Pritch taught me a lot about the importance of being present in anything you do in life. He also taught me the importance of making decisions in life with the interests of the people around you.
Baseball head coach Chris Pritchett pays tribute to Caswell:
I didn't get to see Jack Caswell pitch in high school, as I had not been hired by UBC yet, and he was already signed as a recruit. I can remember making some calls to scouts and coaches back in the Toronto area to find out some intelligence on him and all the reports were consistent; that Jack was a long-limbed, left-handed pitcher with tremendous upside and potential Major League Baseball draft pick some day. Unfortunately, I never got to see Jack pitch at full strength, as the first call I got from him before arriving on campus was that he had injured his pitching elbow and was going to need Tommy John surgery. Most likely, he would miss the first two years of playing and was trying to decide whether or not to come to UBC.
Jack did choose to come, and the UBC baseball family is really glad he did. He may never have regained the form that the scouts saw in high school, but Jack worked very hard and developed into a solid college pitcher and filled an important role on our pitching staff. His work ethic and mental toughness were huge attributes, which allowed him to lead by example thus impacting our younger pitchers through his natural practice habits. I'm so glad Jack decided to come to UBC and he leaves with a degree and tons of respect from the coaches and players. We wish Jack nothing but the best as he leaves UBC to tackle his next challenge.

What does the support of donors and alumni mean to you as a student-athlete?
Reflecting back on my time as a Thunderbird, I realize the experiences and opportunities I was presented with were only possible because of the support of donors and alumni. I am extremely thankful for their support in making my student-athlete experience as amazing as it was. I am looking forward to joining the alumni community and contributing to the success of future Thunderbirds.
