Matthew MacDonald did it all when the Canadian Futures Showcase came to Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton Park in Ottawa during the fall of 2022.

In a 10-5 win for Team Black over Team Red MacDonald (Kamloops, B.C.) caught, played middle infield, patrolled right field and pitched. All in the same game.

He also hit two doubles and drove in a run while playing right field. From the mound, he had a 1-2-3-4 inning allowing a base hit and striking out a pair.

Also, a switch hitter, he also represented B.C. at the Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games.

And in 2023, he was at the Rogers Centre catching and playing infield for Team New Blue as a representative of the Webber Wildcats.

Now he heads to South Carolina to pitch for the NCAA Div II Erskine College Fleet.

Our Peter Berryman added 13 players from northern schools to our 2025 Canadians in College list -- which now sits at a record 1,172 players playing the majority of their schedules south of the border.

And four players, including MacDonald, were added to our Letters of Intent page.
