Votto moves into second on all-time Canuck home run list

Etobicoke, Ont., native Joey Votto clubbed a solo home run off of Cleveland Indians pitcher Mike Clevinger in the top of the fifth inning on Monday for his 266th career homer.

This round-tripper moved him past Matt Stairs (Fredericton, N.B.) and into second place on the all-time Canadian major league home runs list. Larry Walker (Maple Ridge, B.C.) sits first with 383 career home runs.

Earlier in the day yesterday, the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame shared that Votto did pass Walker in another statistical category:
