OTTAWA – The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) announced today the postponement of the Women’s Baseball World Cup due to the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
The Women’s National Team was scheduled to participate in the event in Monterey, Mexico that was originally set to take place from September 11 to 20.
A WBSC statement read:
“Following a video conference on Tuesday with WBSC Continental Associations and Local Organizing Committees, the WBSC took the decision to postpone the events until further notice out of consideration of player, personnel and spectator health and safety measures against the spread of the coronavirus.”
