WCBL launches new website

CALGARY, ALBERTA - The Western Canadian Baseball League (WCBL) is proud to announce the launch of its newly-designed website, meticulously crafted to significantly enrich the digital experience of our fans.
This initiative is in partnership with Sportzone Internet Services, a Calgary company that has been providing cutting-edge digital solutions in the sports industry for over 20 years. The new website establishes a comprehensive one-stop-shop for all WCBL content and information.
“When the WCBL approached me with their vision for a new direction and their desire to offer fans a better digital experience, I was excited about the opportunity to help them do just that. Our team has worked tirelessly to develop a platform that not only meets, but surpasses, the expectations of WCBL fans,” said Sportzone Owner/Operator Jason Johnson of the collaboration.
Mark Stiles, the WCBL’s managing director of corporate partnerships & marketing, also expressed enthusiasm about the new online home for Canada’s premier summer collegiate baseball league.
“We are thrilled to launch the new website for the 2024 season. We obtained the services of Jason Johnson from Sportzone Internet Services and he has worked nonstop with us to develop a digital experience that we hope will impress WCBL fans,” said Stiles.
“The new site boasts easy navigation and offers fans and partners a plethora of new features. This includes - but is not limited to - live scoring, game highlights, video, extensive advertising opportunities, comprehensive stats, news and stories about the Western Canadian Baseball League. It does all this while honouring the rich history of the Western Canadian Baseball League. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Jason and his team for their dedication and hard work in bringing the new site to our fans.’

ABOUT THE WESTERN CANADIAN BASEBALL LEAGUE (WCBL)
The WCBL is Canada’s premier summer collegiate baseball league. The WCBL boasts a long-standing tradition of creating a showcase for top Canadian prospects, while at the same time offering American college players the opportunity to hone their skills in front of enthusiastic baseball fans in towns and cities throughout Alberta and Saskatchewan.
In 2024, the wood-bat league will welcome back the Edmonton Prospects as well as a new expansion franchise, the Saskatoon Berries. The Okotoks Dawgs are the defending WCBL champions, coming off back-to-back titles in 2022 and 2023.
The WCBL experienced record-breaking attendance in 2023, with 305,425 fans attending 275 regular-season games and another 40,370 spectators showing up to 16 postseason contests.
WCBL rosters include elite college players from across North America and league alumni have gone on to play in Major League Baseball (MLB) and in other professional baseball leagues.
