Westcott re-signs with Ottawa Titans

Ottawa, Ont. - The Ottawa Titans have re-signed right-handed pitcher Zac Westcott for the upcoming 2023 Frontier League season.
Westcott, 31, returns to Ottawa after an All-Star campaign in 2022, where he posted a team-leading 11 victories. In 20 appearances (19 starts and one in relief), he dropped only three decisions to go along with a 4.09 ERA. The 6-foot-1-inch righty tossed 121 innings, striking out 88.
Westcott helped guide the Titans to the FLDS with a masterful 7 2/3 innings of two-run ball in the Wild Card game. One of the most feared arms in the Frontier League, Westcott enters the 2023 season 10 wins shy of tying Aaron Ledbetter’s record of 51 career victories.
Prior to the Titans, Westcott split the 2021 season with the Southern Illinois Miners and Atlantic League’s Lexington Legends, going a combined 15-5 with a 3.57 ERA in 26 appearances. The right-hander tossed 153 2/3 innings and struck out 128. While with the Miners, Wescott was named runner-up for Pitcher of the Year as he led the league in wins (14) and IP (123), was fifth in strikeouts (103), and came 10th in ERA (3.29).
The Weston, Fla. product has pitched in four professional independent leagues over seven campaigns of pro baseball. Westcott’s career has mainly seen him dominate the Frontier League, where he has posted a 3.63 ERA, going 41-19 (533 IP, 132 BB / 432 K) over five seasons with three different clubs.
In other news, the Titans have traded LHP Zach Penrod to the Missoula PaddleHeads of the Pioneer League in exchange for RHP Nate Boyle.
