Lethbridge Bulls vs Fort McMurray Giants | 2 – 4

The Fort McMurray Giants defeated the Lethbridge Bulls 4-2, putting them behind the Edmonton Prospects by only half a game for the final playoff spot in the WCBL’s West Division.

Right-handed pitcher, Nick Cardinal nearly tossed a complete game for the Giants as he pitched 8 2/3 innings, striking out four and allowing only two earned runs, before Tristian Richardson faced the final batter of the ballgame to complete the victory.

Giants second baseman, Cam Sanderson had two RBIs as he finished 2-4 on the night with a run scored and a stolen base.

Yorkton Cardinals vs Weyburn Beavers | 6 – 5

The Yorkton Cardinals picked up their fifth win of the season, taking down the third place Weyburn Beavers 6-5 as they snap a six game losing streak, bringing their record up to 5-39 for the season, as the Weyburn Beavers fall 26-16.

Andrew Magness was the starter for the Cardinals, tossing 4 2/3 innings, striking out four, allowing four earned runs, before Tanner Huber came in relief to face the final batter of the fifth inning. The big story on the day was Payton Harris who pitched the final four innings for the Cardinals, striking out seven and shutting down Beavers batters, allowing only two hits.

Utility player, Hut Smith had a terrific day at the plate, going 3-4 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored. His teammate, Matthew Korman was also impressive, going 3-5 with a run scored and a stolen base.

Medicine Hat Mavericks vs Swift Current 57’s | 2 – 1

The Medicine Hat Mavericks downed the Swift Current 57’s 2-1, bringing them half a game back of the Lethbridge Bulls for second in the West Division.

Left-handed pitcher, Garrett Nicholson started for the Mavericks, tossing seven innings, striking out six before Taylor Wright and Junior Pimentel each tossed and inning, striking out a batter apiece, completing the victory for Medicine Hat.

Mavericks third baseman, Collin Klingensmith and outfielder, Freddy Walker each had RBIs in the ballgame as Klingensmith finished 2-4 with a double and a homer as Walker went 1-2 with a walk.

Brooks Bombers vs Melville Millionaires | 4 – 2

The Brooks Bombers defeated the Melville Millionaires 4-2, bringing their record up to 12-31 for the season as the Millionaires fall to 16-29.

Nick Garcia was dominant on the mound for Brooks, tossing a complete game, allowing only one earned run, striking out nine on the night.

Bombers outfielder, Josh McIntrye had a terrific day at the plate, driving in two RBIs, finishing the ballgame 1-4 with a double as his teammate, second baseman McCoy Pearce also drove in two RBI’s as he finished 1-4 with a triple.
