Lethbridge Bulls vs Okotoks Dawgs | 2 – 10
The Okotoks Dawgs added to their lead in the West Division standings, defeating the Lethbridge Bulls 10-2. With the loss, the Bulls now fall to third behind the Medicine Hat Mavericks and sit with a record of 26-22.
Right-handed pitcher, Billy Brand got the start for the Dawgs, tossing five innings, striking out four, before handing things off to Alex Jones who pitched an inning. Andrew Yates, Brandon Desjardins and Dan Ferrario finished the ballgame after each throwing an inning each.
Dawgs catcher, Gavin Logan had a terrific day at the plate going 3-4 with an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base, as his teammate, Jaxon Valcke crushed a homer in the victory, finishing the ballgame 2-4 with a walk, three runs scored and two RBIs.
Weyburn Beavers vs Regina Red Sox | 1 – 4
The Regina Red Sox downed the Weyburn Beavers 4-1 as they now sit 8-2 in their last 10 games played. After holding first place in the East Division for most of the season, the Beavers seem to have fallen off the tracks as they find themselves 5.5 GB of the first place Red Sox.
Michael Batten was the starter for Regina, tossing 7 1/3 innings of work, striking out a whopping 13 Weyburn batters, before Baylor Gianinni and Heibert Romero each tossed 1/3 of an inning to escape the eighth. Jackson Cofer closed things out, throwing the final inning of work, striking out one.
Outfielder, Griffin Keller had two doubles in the win for the Red Sox as he finished the ballgame 3-4 with and RBI and a run scored.
Moose Jaw Miller Express vs Swift Current 57’s | 6 – 7
The Swift Current 57’s find themselves only 2.5 GB of the first place Regina Red Sox for top spot in the East Division, as they defeated the Moose Jaw Miller Express 7-6.
Right-handed pitcher, Garrett Hawkins tossed five innings to start things off for the 57’s, striking out three during his time on the mound, before Aaron Pugh came in relief to throw 1 1/3 innings. Graeme Cherry and Kiel Krumwiede completed the final three innings of work to complete the victory.
57’s outfielder, John Sechen crushed a homer in the victory, finishing the ballgame 4-5 with a double and four RBIs.
Melville Millionaires vs Medicine Hat Mavericks | 2 – 16
The Medicine Hat Mavericks took second spot from the Lethbridge Bulls after defeating the Melville Millionaires 16-2. With the win, the Mavericks now hold a record of 26-21, as the Millionaires fall to 16-31.
Brandon Ponticelli got the start for the Mavericks, as he tossed five innings of one hit baseball, striking out seven Millionaires batters. Hunter Cooper came in relief of Ponticelli in the sixth inning, tossing two innings, before Zach Mcdermott and Austin Oulds each threw an inning to finish things off.
Mavericks third baseman, Taylor Wright hit the only home run in the ballgame as he finished the night 1-3 with a sac fly, two runs scored and four RBIs.
Brooks Bombers vs Yorkton Cardinals | 16 – 3
It was a battle of the two last place teams in each division, as the Brooks Bombers took down the Yorkton Cardinals by a commanding score of 16-3. With the victory, the Bombers improve their record to 14-32 for the season, as the Cardinals fall to 5-41.
Four different pitchers took to the mound in the ballgame, but it was Tyler Mondoux who received the start, tossing six innings of work, striking out two, as Damian Rodriguez, McCoy Pearce and Zach Lehman each pitched an inning to complete the victory.
Bombers utility player, McCoy Pearce crushed a homer in the victory, finishing the ballgame 3-4 with two walks, a double, two runs scored and five RBIs.
