West Division

(1) Okotoks Dawgs vs (4) Edmonton Prospects | 4 – 5

Series Tied 1-1

The Edmonton Prospects walked off the Okotoks Dawgs after being down two runs in the 10th inning to tie the series 1-1 and bring things back to Okotoks for a do-or-die game three.

Hunter Boyd was spectacular for the Prospects as he received the start, tossing all 10 innings of work, striking out 10 and only allowing four earned runs.

Prospects third baseman, Tyler Maskill drove in the winning runs after hitting a single with the bases loaded in 10th inning, finishing the ballgame 2-5 with two RBIs.

Game three will be held in Okotoks on Saturday at 7:05 p.m.

(2) Lethbridge Bulls vs (3) Medicine Hat Mavericks | 2 – 7

Series Tied 1-1

The Medicine Hat Mavericks defeated the Lethbridge Bulls 7-2 to tie the series 1-1 and bring the two teams together for a winner take all game three.

Owen Steele was the starter for the victorious Mavericks, tossing the first six innings of the ballgame, striking out two batters and allowing only one earned run before Taylor Wright came in relief to pitch the final three innings.

Mavericks third baseman, Collin Klingensmith had a terrific day at the plate as he batted leadoff for his club, finishing 3-5 with two runs scored and an RBI.

Game three will be held in Lethbridge on Saturday at 7:05PM.

East Division

(1) Regina Red Sox vs (4) Moose Jaw Miller Express | 6 – 9

Series Tied 1-1

The Moose Jaw Miller Express took down the first place Regina Red Sox 9-6 to tie the series 1-1 and bring things back to Regina for a do-or-die game three.

Jeff Nicolosi got the start for Moose Jaw as he tossed the first six innings of the ballgame, striking out four and allowing only two earned runs, before Michael Ross came in relief to pitch the seventh where he allowed three earned runs. Jaden Hofmann and Jack Gamba each tossed an inning to complete the victory for the Miller Express.

Miller Express shortstop, Ty Lightly finished the night 3-5 with three runs scored and an RBI, as his teammate, right fielder, Michael Borst crushed a double, going 2-3 with a HBP and two RBIs.

Game three will be held in Regina on Saturday at 7:05 p.m.

(2) Swift Current 57’s vs (3) Weyburn Beavers | 9 – 7

Swift Current Wins Series 2-0

The Swift Current 57’s find themselves moving on to round two of the 2019 WCBL Postseason as they defeated the Weyburn Beavers by a score of 5-4 to complete the sweep.

It was a rough start for 57’s right-hander, Tyler Murphy as he allowed six hits and four earned runs in 4 2/3 innings to start the ballgame. Diego Jordan came in relief of Murphy in the 5th inning, pitching 1 2/3 innings, striking out three, before Brendan Eckout tossed a hitless 7th and 8th, setting up Garrett Alexander to close things out and complete the victory.

Kiel Krumwiede and Jack Large each crushed homers for the 57’s as Krumwiede finished 3-5 with two RBI’s and two runs scored and Large finished 2-2 with two RBI’s and a sac fly.
