The WMBL announced the Stars of the Week today.

Weyburn outfielder Carlos Flores was awarded the WMBL Player of the Week honours while Jared Libke of the Medicine Hat Mavericks was named Pitcher of the Week.

Honourable Mention for Player of the Week was given to Swift Current’s Mason Brown and Ryan Humenuik of the Okotoks Dawgs.

Michael Gahan of Edmonton and Mitch Guiberson of Swift Current received Honourable Mention as Pitcher of the Week.

Carlos Flores had a very good week at the plate for the Weyburn Beavers. The senior from the University of Rio Grande contributed three runs, seven hits including two doubles, two home runs and four RBI. His efforts helped the Beavers defeat the Regina Red Sox in four games in round 1 of the WMBL playoffs.

In Game 5 against Lethbridge, Jared Libke of the Medicine Hat Mavericks was outstanding. He threw eight scoreless innings limiting the Bulls batters to just one hit and four walks. He also struck out six of the 28 batters he faced while picking up the victory that sent the Mavericks back to the Western Division Final.
