Host Alberta remained unbeaten while Ontario and Québec picked up wins as just three games were played on day three of the Women’s Invitational Championships in Okotoks, Alberta after a hail storm hit the region late in the day.

Combined with two postponements from Thursday’s games, tournament organizers have been forced into duty rescheduling games that will see medal games moved from Sunday to Monday.

On the field, Alberta improved their record to a perfect 3-0 with a 12-2 win over winless Ontario 2. Ellie Jespersen tossed six innings on the mound to record the win and drove in two runs with a pair of hits including a triple. Kelsey and Hayley Lalor knocked in a pair of runs each.

Ontario picked up their third straight win to move to 3-1 with a 13-2 win over Ontario 2 in an all-Ontario battle. Jenna Flannigan had three hits including a double and scored three runs for Ontario while teammate Emma Carr drove in three runs.

Québec (2-1) handed BC (2-2) their second loss of the tournament with a 14-4 win and it was Alexane Fournier who was the story in this one as she drove in six runs with a 4-for-4 day including a double and triple.
