The Canadian Women’s National Baseball Team knows how to get it done on the field with a current world ranking of No. 2 and six all-time medals collected at eight Women’s Baseball World Cup events.

This group of amazing athletes is now coming together to make a difference off the field for the first-ever TOGETHER FOR WOMEN, an on-line event on Saturday, May 16 that will showcase some of Canada’s top female athletes in support of the Canadian Women’s Foundation.

Baseball.ca will be the place to be from 1 - 4 p.m. E.T. on May 16 as current and former members of the Women’s National Team welcome Olympic hockey heroes Danielle Goyette, Becky Kellar-Duke and Cheryl Pounder, former Canadian soccer star Rhian Wilkinson, Chicago Cubs’ minor league hitting coach Rachel Folden and Sportsnet Hometown Hockey’s Tara Slone as feature guests.

Former Canadian major leaguers Joe Siddall and Phillippe Aumont will also be appearing along with Super Bowl champion Luke Willson of the Seattle Seahawks.

The show will also include interviews with 2019 Women’s National Team award winners Amanda Asay, Ellie Jespersen, Kelsey Lalor and Nicole Luchanski, and will provide an in-depth look into the program highlighted by this exceptional group of Canadian athletes!

The Canadian Women’s Foundation funds programs across Canada, prioritizing communities where the need is greatest. These programs address four urgent issues: gender-based violence, economic security, girls’ empowerment, and inclusive leadership.

The COVID-19 pandemic is having an unprecedented impact on vulnerable women and girls throughout Canada. Programs and services are seeing a surge in gender-based violence and economic problems and they’re struggling to meet women’s needs.

Donations can be made on baseball.ca with all funds raised going to the Canadian Women’s Foundation.
