Baseball America

In a banner year for Canadians, Williams represents the high-ceiling nature of the country’s prospects this year. He lacks plus tools but has the potential to develop into a solid all-around player.

He is an average to slightly above-average runner and shows a 50 arm in both the infield and the outfield. He doesn’t quite have the offensive track record of some of his fellow Canadians, but he has made strides at the plate.

A righthanded hitter, Williams has the potential for average bat speed, with a smooth downhill swing plane geared for line drives. His lower half can get disconnected at times, and his timing will need to improve at the next level.

Williams has some power to his pull side, but it is a below-average tool for him. He is committed to the State College of Florida, though scouts believe he may be signable after the top 10 rounds.
