Okotoks, Alta. _ The Okotoks Dawgs (7-6) were victorious late in the ninth inning, beating the seconnd-place Lethbridge Bulls (10-4) 11-10 in walk off fashion.

The offense came in spurts, but the one constant came from the shortstop, Peter Hutzal (Dawgs Baseball Academy) who finished the game with two doubles and a single, along with three RBI’S which was tied for the team lead.

The other notable action came from Kellen Marruffo (University of Utah) and Michael Gretler (Oregon State University).

Marruffo started the game off with a bang as he hit a two run home run to right field to tie the game up at two in the bottom of the first.

That home run was the first home run to clear Seaman Stadium for the 2016 season. Marruffo would finish 1-for-2, as he would walk three times and ground out along with his two run home run.

Michael Gretler made his debut against Lethbridge as the designated hitter, going 1-for-3. After struggling at the plate for most of the game, he would be the one to put the Dawgs back into the game, as he would hit a three run home run, in the bottom of the ninth to tie the game at 10 before a Tyler Mildenberg (Dixie State University) single would score the winning run.

On the other side of things, the Dawgs sent CJ Lewington (University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff) to start. Lewington would go 4 1/3 innings, giving up six runs, four earned runs, walking four runners, striking out one and getting a no decision for his efforts. The Dawgs would then go to Tyler Burdett (Dixie State Univeristy), Jeremy Newton (University of British Columbia), Anthony Baldaras (Lewis and Clark State University) and Christian Parsons (Lower Columbia University) in relief. Parsons would go on to earn his first win of the year after pitching one inning, giving up two runners along with striking out two as well.

The Dawgs are back at it on Saturday and Sunday as they finish up their home stand with games against Medicine Hat and Brooks.
