Baseball Canada Championships Semifinals now set at all three events

The semi-final match-ups at all three Baseball Canada Championships are now set for Sunday. At the 18U Championship in Sherbrooke, QC, New Brunswick will face Québec ’18 while Saskatchewan takes on Québec 17’. British Columbia vs Manitoba and Nova Scotia vs Ontario make up the two match-ups in Vaughan, ON at the 16U Girls Invitational. In Regina, SK, Manitoba and Québec as well as Regina and Ontario will both face off for a chance for the chance to play in the finals at the 21U Championship.

18U Championship
New Brunswick 18 Newfoundland 0
Jesse Malone (Memramcook, NB) hit his 4th home run of the tournament to lead New Brunswick to the win and stay perfect at 5-0. Malone went 2 for 3 with 3 RBIs and 2 runs scored. Starter Zack Gosse (Miramichi, NB) earned the win tossing 3 innings of no-hit baseball.
Prince Edward Island 5 Saskatchewan 2
Brandon Watts (Cornwall, PE) contributed offensively in this one going 2 for 4 with a double and 2 RBIs. Jayden MacLean (Summerside, PE) was solid on the mound striking out 5 over 5 to be credited with the win while holding the opposition to 2 runs.
Manitoba 7 Nova Scotia 1
Carson Campbell (Winnipeg, MB) was stellar on the mound for Manitoba striking out 7 in the complete game win. Campbell held Nova Scotia to 1 run on 3 hits. Jordan Foote (Boissevain, MB) went 3 for 4 with a double to contribute offensively in the win.
British Columbia 12 Alberta 0
Cade Smith (Abbotsford, BC) went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles, 3 RBIs and 2 runs scored to provide the bulk of the offense in the win. Alberta couldn’t solve starter Riley Ens (Langley, BC) who tossed a complete game shutout giving up only 3 hits while striking out 3.
Québec ’17 9 Ontario 3
Reliever Viktor Bergeron (Terrebonne, QC) had a strong performance striking out 4 over 4 scoreless innings and giving only 3 hits. Edouard Savoie (St Eustache, QC) went 2 for 4 with a double and 3 runs scored to provide some run support.
Saskatchewan 8 British Columbia 0
Starting pitcher Logan Hofmann (Muenster, SK) was lights out in this one allowing only 2 hits in the complete game shutout win. Hofmann struck out 6 over 7 helping Saskatchewan get a spot in the semis on Sunday. Brody Frerichs (Muenster, SK) went 3 for 4 with a double, an RBI and 2 runs scored.
21U Men Championship
Manitoba 7 Nova Scotia 6
Manitoba walked this one off with as Colten Boudreau and Jordan Wall both scored in the bottom of the 7th on an infield error. Closer Austin Smith (East St. Paul, MB) was credited with the win holding Nova Scotia to a run during his time on the mound.
New Brunswick 15 British Columbia 2
New Brunswick’s bats really came alive in this one as Markus Coates (Riverview, NB) and Eric Hebert (Memramcook, NB) chipped in 3 RBIs each. Coates went 2 for 4 with a double and 3 runs scored while Hebert double as well going 3 for 5. Starter Colby Lyle (Oromocto, NB) came up with the complete game win striking out 6 over 7.
Québec 11 Regina 7
Reliever Vincent Beauregard (Laval, QC) tossed 3 2/3 innings of one-hit baseball to earn the win for Québec. Beauregard struck out 4 while allowing 1 run. Jonathan Martin (L’Assomption, QC) went 3 for 5 with 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored to provide some run support in the win.
Ontario 6 Saskatchewan 0
Ontario’s 4-run inning in the 1st set the tone for this one as they went to shut out Saskatchewan. Rex Romero (Windsor, ON) had an all-star performance as he 1-hit the opposition striking out 9 in the complete game win. Matthew Deneau (Amherstburg, ON) doubled and came across to score 3 times.
Manitoba 5 New Brunswick 1
Daylon Creasy (Carberry, MB) went the distance tossing a complete game win for Manitoba to clinch a spot in the semifinals on Sunday. Creasy struck out 4 over 7 while holding New Brunswick to 1 run. Jordan Wall (Winkler, MB) went 2 for 4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored to provide some run supports.
Regina 7 Saskatchewan 1
Regina secured their spot in the semis as well thanks to a very strong performance on the mound from Tanner Ring (Regina, SK). Ring earned the win striking out 7 over a complete 7 innings and holding the opposition to 1 run. Geordie McDougall (Lumsden, SK) went 2 for 3 with a triple and 3 RBIs.
16U Girls Championship
Manitoba 12 Québec Blue 6
Brittney Langlais (Garson, MB) earned the complete game win striking out 7 over 7 innings of work and allowing only 2 earned runs. Langlais also provided some much needed run support going 3 for 5 with 3 RBIs and 2 runs scored.
Alberta 12 Québec Grey 2
Alberta’s 4-run inning to start the 1st gave them the lead that lasted them the game as Saige Hall (Delia, AB) tossed a complete 7 innings striking out 7 and holding Québec to 2 runs. Alexis Galloway (Okotoks, AB) tripled and came across to score 3 times in the win.
Nova Scotia 16 Saskatchewan 6
Starting pitcher Meaghan Reardon (Halifax, NS) earned the win striking out 2 over 1.2 innings and holding the opposition to 1 hit. Makayla Addington (Weymouth, NS) and Jill Gallant (Amherst, NS) drove in 2 runs each in the win.
British Columbia 18 Newfoundland 5
Starting pitcher Celia Leaf (Nanaimo, BC) earned the win striking out 5 over 4 innings limiting Newfoundland to 4 hits. Allison Kuzyk (Vancouver, BC) went 3 for 4 with 3 RBIs and 2 runs scored to provide the bulk of the offense in the win.
Ontario 26 Québec Grey 4
Ontario’s offense was firing on all cylinders in the decisive win. Madison Barry (Etobicoke, ON) went 2 for 3 with a double and a triple driving in 3 and scoring 4 runs of her own. Taylor Delaney (Mississauga, ON) went 3 for 5 with 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
