Blue Jays from Away
The Blue Jays’ affiliates went three for three in Thursday’s action, a rare sweep for the minor leaguers.
Buffalo Bisons 8, Syracuse Chiefs 3
Wade LeBlanc had probably his worst start of the season (“worst” being relative to the excellence he has displayed regularly), but the Bisons provided enough offense to mitigate any problems he might have had. LeBlanc only allowed three runs (all earned) but walked a season-high four and struck out a season-low three batters over six innings. Chad Girodo, Pat McCoy and Bo Schultz took over with one inning each and kept the Chiefs off the board.
The Bisons’ offense got to Aaron Laffey and had two doubles from Junior Lake, a single and a double (and two RBI) from Casey Kotchman, two singles and a walk from A.J. Jimenez, a single and a double from Jesus Montero and a single and a home run from Matt Dominguez.

Roster Notes: Bobby Korecky went back on the 7-day DL for the Bisons.
New Hampshire Fisher Cats 2, Harrisburg Senators 1
The Fisher Cats, unlike the Bisons, didn’t get a ton of offense but Shane Dawson made sure that the two runs were enough in a 2-1 win. Dawson fired six innings of one-run, four-hit ball, walking two and striking out four. Jason Berken gave up three hits but no runs and struck out two in two innings and Wil Browning loaded the bases on three hits but didn’t allow anyone to score, picking up his eighth save.
Rowdy Tellez, once again, led the offense, going 2/4 with a double and a triple, driving in one run and scoring. Matt Dean also had two hits and Wilkin Castillo drove in the other run. Jon Berti was 1/3 with a walk.

Dunedin Blue Jays

Lansing Lugnuts 5, Dayton Dragons 1
Righty Jon Harris rebounded from a tough start last time out to limit the Dayton Dragons as the Lugnuts won their second in a row against the Reds’ Class-A farm club. Harris went five innings, throwing 80 pitches and giving up just one run on five hits and a walk with four strikeouts. Starlyn Suriel faced the minimum in the sixth and Patrick Murphy earned a three-inning save, striking out four and allowing only one hit.
Gunnar Heidt continues to be one of the Lugnuts’ most consistent hitters, going 2/5 with two runs at the top of the order. Ryan Hissey was 2/4 with an RBI and Lane Thomas was on base twice with a walk and an HBP, scoring both times and stealing a base.
