Abram, Wilson capture IBL player of the week honours

For the period from May 20 to May 26, the Pitcher of the Week has been awarded to Welland Jackfish starting pitcher Ben Abram (Georgetown, Ont.). The 6-foot-8 right-hander tossed a complete game shutout against the Toronto Maple Leafs on May 25. In that contest, Abram allowed only four hits, while striking out 11, as he cruised to his second win of the season.

Gus Wilson (Nanaimo, B.C.), of the Brantford Red Sox, has been awarded the Batter of the Week. Wilson collected five hits over the weekend, including a home run and a double.

For the season, Wilson is batting .467.
