Anytime you win a championship, it’s a good week.

The Terrier 15U’s did just that as the organization’s four other teams continued on in Canadian Premier Baseball League play.

Let’s take a deep dive into the week that was.

17U – OF Bryce Cross

Bryce Cross hit for the cycle en route to hitting .733 with seven RBIs on the weekend. Of his 11 hits, two were doubles, two were triples and one was a home run.

16U – RHP/OF Josh Mendl

Josh Mendl made an impact in the batter’s box and on the mound for the 16U team. Offensively, Mendl collected four hits and drew a walk. In a 15-7 win he went 3-for-4. On the mound, the right-hander threw a scoreless, hitless 1 1/3 innings. He walked three and struck out two.

15U – LHP/OF Brett Crowley

Winning the Cincy Flames Tournament was a team effort but Brett Crowley stood out. Crowley contributed six hits, two walks, five RBIs and a stolen base. He was also called upon to pitch twice. His first appearance came in Game 2 when he worked three innings and allowed one run on two hits with a walk and five strikeouts. When the 15U’s punched their ticket to the final, they gave the ball to Crowley again and this time he threw a complete game, seven innings in a 7-3 victory over the Yard Goats to claim the title. He surrendered the three runs on nine hits and fanned eight.

Carter Asselin had a hit, walked twice and drove in two runs in a four-game series against the Great Lake Canadians.

14U Minor – RHP/OF Mark Hircak

Mark Hircak threw three scoreless innings as the 14U Minor’s beat GLC 2-1 in Game 1 of their series. Hircak gave up three hits and struck out three. In two other games in the series, he had an RBI and was hit by a pitch.
