The Toronto Blue Jays have acquired minor league RHP Jacob Waguespack from the Philadelphia Phillies in exchange for LHP Aaron Loup.
WAGUESPACK, 24, is 4-6 with a 4.68 ERA in 21 games for the Reading Fightin Phils of the Eastern League (AA) and the Lehigh Valley IronPigs of the International League (AAA). The 6-6, 225 lb. right-handed pitcher has pitched 82 2/3 innings this season allowing 85 hits with 36 walks and 79 strikeouts. The native of Waco, Texas owns a career record of 17-16 and a 3.67 ERA in four minor league seasons.
LOUP, 30, is 0-0 with a 4.54 ERA in 50 games for the Blue Jays this season. The 5-11, 210 lb. left-handed pitcher has pitched 35 2/3 innings this season allowing 44 hits with 13 walks and 42 strikeouts. The native of Raceland, La., owns a career record of 12-20 with a 3.47 ERA and 297 strikeouts in 369 games over seven seasons with Toronto (2012-2018).
