The Toronto Blue Jays have agreed to terms with OF Anthony Santander on a five-year contract (US $92,500,000).

Santander, 30, was named an All-Star and Silver Slugger for the first time in 2024 after slashing .235/.308/.506 with 25 doubles, a pair of triples, a career-high 44 home runs and 102 RBIs, and an .814 OPS in 155 contests with the Orioles. The 44 homers are the fifth most in a single season by a switch-hitter in MLB history.

Since 2022, Santander ranks second in the American League in home runs (105), fifth in RBI (286), and tied for fifth in extra-base hits (198).

The Margarita, Venezuela, native was originally signed by Cleveland as an international free agent in 2011, before making his MLB debut with the Orioles in 2017.

Across eight seasons in Baltimore, he appeared in a total of 746 games, batting .246 with 155 doubles, six triples, 155 home runs, 435 RBIs, and a .776 OPS.

Additionally, LHP Brandon Eisert has been designated for assignment.
