Cazorla, Pearce knock in runs in Dawg's 2-0 win over Gulls

The Okotoks Dawgs defeated the Sylvan Lake Gulls 2-0 on Tuesday night.
The Dawgs’ offence was ready to go as they scored two runs in the first two innings and kept the lead due to solid pitching and defence.
With a record of 33-11, the Dawgs’ remain first in the west division.
Bobby Vath started and turned in a stellar outing, tossing eight scoreless innings, and recording three strikeouts to earn his fourth win of the season. Matt Wilkinson (Okotoks, Alta.) earned his second save of the season striking out two batters in the ninth to secure the victory.
The Dawgs’ offence was led by Micah McDowell (Kentville, N.S.) and Ricky Sanchez who both went 2-for-4 with Sanchez scoring a run. The Dawgs’ scoring came courtesy of McCoy Pearce (Kamloops, B.C.) and Alejandro Cazorla (Okotoks, Alta.) who both had an RBI in the contest.
The Dawgs will travel to Lethbridge on Wednesday for a brief road trip before returning home to Seaman Stadium on Friday for a matchup with the Edmonton Prospects followed by the WCBL All-Star game on Saturday.
