Six more Canadians selected on final day of MLB draft

Ottawa, Ont. – The 2022 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft concluded on Tuesday with rounds 11 through 20 where six Canadians heard their names called.

In total, 15 Canadian-born players were selected over the three-day event including nine current or former members of Baseball Canada’s Junior National Team (U18) program.

The following is a breakdown of Canadian players drafted by MLB organization:

Atlanta Braves (3), San Diego Padres (2), Cleveland Guardians (2), Arizona Diamondbacks (2), Toronto Blue Jays (1), Los Angeles Angles (1), New York Mets (1), Washington Nationals (1), Boston Red Sox (1), Milwaukee Brewers (1)

Of note, Toronto-born Adam Tulloch and Vancouver-born Lamar King Jr. are included in the 15 Canadians selected. Both players were raised in the United States.
