The COBA Major Week V POWs and Team of the Week …

The COBA Major Zero K Bats Player of the Week: Brandon Chong of the Milton Red Sox.

This is the first weekly award for Brandon this year. For his week, he played one game batting .750 (3-for-4) with a double. He collected six RBIs as well.

For the season, Chong is now hitting at a .268 clip (11-for-41) over the club’s first 10 games. He has two doubles, while driving in 14 RBIs. He also has two stolen bases.

Burlington Brants Evan Krychowski.

The COBA Major Sam Bat Pitcher of the week is Evan Krychowski of the Burlington Brants.

The veteran hurler takes down this honor for the first time this season. In his only appearance this week, he collected the win as he tossed four scoreless innings of relief on one hit. He walked two while striking out two.

On the season, Krychowski is now 2-1. He has thrown 17 1/3 innings and allowed six runs on 17 hits for a 3.12 ERA. He has walked only eight batters while striking out 10 batters.

The COBA Major Zingers Bats Team of the Week are the Burlington Brants.

The Brants had two games this week as they collected a pair of wins. They defeated the Brampton Royals at home by a score of 8-6 and followed that up with a road win in Oakville by a score of 11-7.

With the wins, Burlington now sits at 4-3 on the season good for 8 points overall and are currently in second place in the Johnson Division standings.
