OKOTOKS, Alta.- The Okotoks Dawgs Baseball Club, defending champions of the Western Canadian Baseball League, Canada’s premier summer collegiate league, are pleased to release their 2021 WCBL Schedule.

2021 promises to be an exciting and unique season as the country emerges from the COVID-19 pandemic. The Dawgs will field two teams in 2021, Dawgs Black and Dawgs Red and are joined for the 2021 season by the Lethbridge Bulls, the Edmonton Prospects and the expansion Sylvan Lake Gulls. Medicine Hat, Fort McMurray, Brooks, Regina, Swift Current, Moose Jaw and Weyburn are poised to rejoin the WCBL in 2022.

2021 Schedule: The 2021 WCBL Season will feature a 40-game regular season followed by two best-of-three rounds of playoffs, culminating in a WCBL Championship Series in mid-August. Each of Dawgs Black and Dawgs Red will play 20 home games at beautiful Seaman Stadium in Okotoks.

-Saturday June 19 @ 7:05pm Dawgs Black vs. Edmonton

-Fathers’ Day Sunday June 20 @ 2:05pm Dawgs Red vs Lethbridge

Canada Day Weekend

-Thursday July 1st @ 7:05pm Dawgs Black vs. Sylvan Lake

-Saturday July 3rd @ 1:05pm Dawgs Red vs. Sylvan Lake

-Saturday July 3rd @ 7:05pm Dawgs Black vs. Sylvan Lake

Dawgs Players to Watch: With the Canada/US border remaining closed, all WCBL teams in 2021 will feature All-Canadian rosters. Both Dawgs teams will include top Dawgs Academy Players bolstered by Dawgs grads returning from baseball programs at U.S. and Canadian colleges.

Dawgs Black will offer a pitching rotation led by Matt Wilkinson (Central Arizona) and Quinn Tocheniuk (Pratt CC,Kansas). Offensively, Black will be led by Ty Doucette (an Oregon State commit) and Alejandro Cazorla (Crowder CC, Missouri).

Dawgs Red rotation will feature veteran standout, Graham Brunner (Illinois State) and Brendan Logan (UBC). Offensively, look for returning Dawgs Academy grads Cole Tucker (Niagara University, NY) and Tucker Zdunich (Colby, Kansas) to lead the charge.

Tickets for the 2021 WCBL season will go on sale in the next 24 hours with Dawgs Season Ticket Holders enjoying priority booking privileges until Saturday, June 12. Stay tuned to the Dawgs website and Social Media platforms for breaking information.
