Lamonts help AOS to Perfect Game pair of wins

Harry (The ) Lamont (Oakville, Ont.) Jacob Malinauskas (Oakville, Ont.) and Jack Lamont (Oakville, Ont.) helped the Ace of Spades to a pair of wins in the 17U Perfect Game Florida World Series at Altamonte Springs, Fla.

The Ace of Spades -- with 10 Canadians on its roster -- scored a victory in its final round robin game and then won a consolation game at the 17U Perfect Game Florida World Series at the Boombah Sports Complex in Altamonte Springs, Fla.

AOS snuck by the 5 Star Puerto Rico 2022, 7-6 to conclude round-robin play with a 1-2 reord.

RHP Harry Lamont (2024, Oakville, Ont.) pitched for AOS allowing one hit and one walk in one inning. He worked consistently in the 72-73 mph range and complemented his fastball with a 64-mph curveball. He also knocked in a run.

Jack Lamont (2022, Oakville, Ont.) was 1-for-3 with a run scored and knocked in a run. Lamont is hitting .500 through three games.

SS Elliot Johnstone (2022, Ancaster, Ont.) went 1-for-1 with an RBI and a run scored. Johnstone is hitting .500 through two games.

Elier Meléndez (2022, PR) pitched for 5 Star Puerto Rico, allowing four hits and three walks, striking out two batters in 3 1/3 innings. Meléndez worked consistently in the 72-81 mph range.

Florida Hardballers Red rolled by AOS 9-2 in the opener.

Jacob Malinauskas (2023, Oakville, Ont.) pitched for AOS allowing two hits and striking out five batters in two innings. Malinauskas worked consistently in the 78-82 mph range.

Joshua Cote (2022, Midland, Ont.) led the way for the AOS offense going 1-for-2 in the game.

Andrew Johnston (2023, Toronto, Ont.) drove in a pair of runs.

Next, Florida Burn 2022 National beat 6-3 as AOS fell to 0-2.

Jessie Ramirez (2022, FL) pitched for Florida Burn allowing four hits and zero walks, striking out two batters in 2 2/3 innings. Ramirez worked consistently in the 78-80 mph range.

C Andrew Johnston led the way for the AOS offense going 1-for-3 in the game with a triple. Johnston is ranked on the High Follow list by Perfect Game.

DH Zachary Christie (2022, Everett, Ont.) went 1-2 with a triple and a run scored. Christie is hitting .500 through two games.

3B Jack Lamont went 2-for-2 with a run scored. Lamont is hitting .667 through two games. 2B Jakob Cellupica (Beeton, Ont.) also knocked in a run.

And in the consolation game ... AOS bear the Cobras Baseball 5-2.

Malinauskas pitched for AOS allowing three hits and a walk, striking out six batters in 3 2/3 innings. Malinauskas sat in the 80-83 mph range.

1B Christie led the way for the AOS going 1-for-2 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored. Christie is hitting .333 through four games.

RF Keegan O’Hearn (2022, Oshawa, Ont.) went 1-for-3 with a triple, plated a runner and a run score.

SS Jack Lamont and 3B Jack Duggan (Georgetown, Ont.) also drove in a run each.

Ryan Paul (2023, FL) pitched for Cobras Baseball allowing five hits and three walks, striking out four batters in six innings. Paul worked consistently in the 82-85 mph range and complemented their fastball with a 69-mph curveball.
