Dumitru, Luther lead Dawgs past Mavs

After a few rainouts, the Okotoks Dawgs finally played on Wednesday, defeating the Medicine Hat Mavericks in a come-from-behind 7-6 win at Seaman Stadium.

The Dawgs smacked 12 hits in the win that saw them move to 13-5 on the season.

Titus Dumitru continued his torrid start to the season, going 4-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs. Meanwhile, Brendan Luther (Mississauga, Ont.) went 2-for-4 and knocked in a run.

Logan Rumberg (Okotoks, Alta.) started and went two innings, allowing three runs on four hits. Ryan McFarland (Calgary, Alta.) and Brady Wilson (Calgary, Alta.) contributed two scoreless innings each in relief.

The Dawgs will host the Weyburn Beavers for a two-game series at Seaman Stadium, starting on Thursday night.
