After a dominating series in Regina, the Okotoks Dawgs lost 4-2 to the Weyburn Beavers on Saturday afternoon.

The Dawgs gave the Beavers a scare with a two-run rally in eighth inning, but they ultimately fell short.

The Dawgs had five hits in the loss and are now 25-8 on the season.

Five different Dawgs players recorded a hit in the contest. Elijha Hammill’s (Oakville, Ont.) two-run home run in the eighth inning, which scored Alejandro Cazorla (Okotoks, Alta.), accounted for the Dawgs’ only two runs. Canon Reeder and Hammill also each had a stolen base in the contest.

On the mound, Graham Brunner (Sherwood Park, Alta.) got the start and surrendered two runs on seven hits in 4 2/3 innings. He also struck out eight batters.

The Dawgs will wrap up their seven-game road trip in Weyburn on Sunday before returning home to Seaman Stadium on Tuesday to host the Moose Jaw Miller Express.
