Official Okotoks Dawgs News Release

The Okotoks Dawgs were defeated 3-1 by the Moose Jaw Miller Express in Moose Jaw, Sask., on Wednesday night.

Moose Jaw scored one run in the first and two runs in the sixth to take a lead the Dawgs could not overcome. With the loss, the Dawgs’ undefeated playoff streak came to an end. They are now 5-1 during this postseason.

The Dawgs’ offence was led by Micah McDowell (Kentville, N.S.), who went 1-for-4 and drove in the Dawgs’ only RBI. Brendan Luther (Mississauga, Ont.) scored the only Dawgs’ run and finished the game 1-for-4.

David Case started on the mound and allowed one earned run in five innings, while registering three strikeouts. Relief efforts from Cade Herrmann, Branden LeBlanc (Okotoks, Alta.) and Julian Tymochko (Etobicoke, Ont.) could not contain a Moose Jaw offence that was prepared for Game 2.
