Lukas McDowell was born in Canada’s first capital.

RHP McDowell (Kingston, Ont.) then moved to the current capital to pitch for the Capital City Reds.

And now McDowell is about to head south to wear the uniform of the University of North Florida Ospreys.

Tis a slow week on the college seen with only four players committing to school down the road and only seven added to the 2025 Canadians in College list bringing the total to 651 players.

McDowell made two all-tournament teams in 2024 as he pitched three scoreless at the Perfect Game WWBA Florida qualifier in Sanford, Fla. He didn’t allow a hit and walked one as he struck out three. Then, at the 16U PG Super25 New England Regional in Schenectady, NY. Again he worked three innings, allowing one run on four hits and four walks, while he struck out three.

The former Kingston Colt and Kingston Ponies, earned Rawlings/Perfect Game Preseason Underclass All American Honorable Mention for the Canada/Puerto Rico region.
