The Intercounty Baseball League’s Brantford Red Sox have re-signed 1B/DH Nick Burdett (Brantford, Ont.).

The Brantford Red Sox have signed veteran 1B/DH Nick Burdett for the 2025 season.
Burdett Brantford, Ont.) enters his 12th season in the IBL, all with the Red Sox. He has a career average of .262 with 49 doubles, 27 home runs and 196 RBIs.
Last season, he led the Red Sox in home runs (4) and RBIs (28).
“It has been great to see Nick get excited about the 2025 season. He is still a clutch hitter that brings power and deepens our lineup. Being a local product as well, we will count on his leadership and experience to help the new team navigate our new surroundings,” said Red Sox GM Jeff Lounsbury.
“I am very excited to be back with the Sox for the 2025 season! Players and the community are very excited to see the new era of Brantford Red Sox baseball under our new owner Terry Smith and GM Jeff Lounsbury. Being a local player, seeing the success growing up and being fortunate enough to be a part of a championship team in my hometown, I would love to see this team get back to where it was all those years ago,” said Burdett. “Make sure to make it out to a game this summer and pack the stadium like we used to.”
The Brantford Red Sox were founded in 1911 and have won 15 Intercounty Baseball League titles.
