GUELPH, ONT. - The Guelph Royals are excited to announce the re-signing of outfielder Ethan Hammond.
Hammond, 23, will enter his fourth season with the Royals, tying him with Conner Morro and Ashton Patterson as the longest-serving position player on the team.
In his first three seasons, the fan favourite has batted .311 with six home runs and 22 stolen bases.
Hammond (Oakville, Ont.) said he hopes he and the team can build off what they did a season ago.
"I'm super excited to be coming back to the Royals this year. We've got a great group of guys and we're looking forward to expand on what we did last year."
Royals assistant general manager Ryan Eakin said he is excited to have Hammond back in the fold.
"I have been a big fan of Ethan for a while. He gives us great at-bats every time he's at the plate, has speed, and is always someone we can rely on to show up and play. We can put him anywhere in the lineup and expect him to produce."
