Official Hamilton Cardinals News Release
The Hamilton Cardinals, members of the Intercounty Baseball League (IBL), are pleased to announce the signing of infielder/outfielder Ashton Feijo.
Feijo (Mississauga, Ont.) enters his first season in the IBL. He hit .361 last fall at Brock University, while battling early season injuries. Feijo spent many years with the Ontario Blue Jays before joining the Brock Badgers baseball program.
“Ashton can play both corner outfield spots and the right-hand side of the infield, giving Coach Castelli position flexibility. He can flat out hit, and I can see him earning some rookie of the year talk as the season progresses. He is a left-handed hitter with advanced plate discipline and will hit the ball from gap to gap. I truly feel he will adapt quickly to IBL pitching and make the necessary adjustments to be successful,” said Cardinals GM Jeff Lounsbury.
“I am grateful to receive an opportunity to play for the Hamilton Cardinals,” said Feijo. “I am excited to meet my new teammates, coaches, and managers. Looking forward to being a part of their success.”
The Hamilton Cardinals Baseball Club is a member of the Intercounty Baseball League (IBL). The over 100-year old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, established in 1919.
