Official London Majors News Release

The London Majors have re-signed outfielder Austin Wilkie for his second season with the club.

In his first season with the Majors, he played 27 games and hit .303 in the regular season and .357 in the playoffs to help propel the Majors to a league championship.

Wilkie’s speed was an asset defensively in centre field and also on the base paths. He stole nine bases in 2021.

“Last summer was the most fun I had playing baseball in a long time,” said Wilkie of his first season with the Majors. “I look forward to donning the pinstripes once again in 2022 and playing in front of our amazing fans at Labatt Park”

“Austin is a talented player that showed improvement and growth during our season last year,” said Majors co-owner, GM and field manager Roop Chanderdat. “He has a lot of upside and as he continues to develop he will find out he can impact the game in a lot of different ways.”

The London Majors are a member of the Intercounty Baseball League. In 2021, they won the IBL Jack & Lynn Dominico Trophy.
