Official Toronto Maple Leafs News Release
The Toronto Maple Leafs have re-signed catcher Justin Marra for the upcoming 2025 season.
Marra (Toronto, Ont.), a seven-time All-Star, will enter his ninth season with the Maple Leafs behind the plate.
In 2024, he sat second on the team with seven home runs. He was also fourth in RBIs with 25, and third in walks with 26, before going 6-for-10 with three home runs, six RBIs and five walks in three postseason games.
He ranks 13th all-time in home runs in Intercounty Baseball League history.
“Justin’s our guy, he’s proven time and time again to be one of the best catchers the IBL has ever seen, and we’re ecstatic to have him back for another season. His gamecalling is great, his defence is fantastic, and we saw - right into the playoffs last year - that he continues to have some serious pop in his bat. As a vet, he will be really important in working with our younger players as they continue to develop and improve,” the Maple Leafs said in a statement.
