Official Hamilton Cardinals News Release

The Hamilton Cardinals are excited to welcome Jaime Lever (Vieira) as the team’s new director of player development.

Lever brings a strong background in player development, scouting, and coaching, with nearly a decade of experience in baseball operations. From 2022 to 2024, she served as a minor league hitting coach with the Toronto Blue Jays, becoming the first woman to coach in the organization. Before that, she worked as a baseball operations research & development intern (2021-2022), assisting with amateur scouting, draft preparation, and player evaluation.

She also spent five years (2016-2022) as an assistant softball coach at Humber College, where she helped develop athletes at the collegiate level. Additionally, during her time with the Jays Care Foundation (2019-2021), she played a key role in running programs designed to support young players and coaches.

Lever holds a Master of Science degree from York University and has academic experience as a teaching assistant at Brock University (2020-2022), where she focused on sports analytics and research design. Her ability to combine data-driven insights with hands-on coaching makes her a valuable addition to the Cardinals.

The Cardinals are excited to see Lever’s contributions to player development and the organization’s future. Vieira will also offer hitting clinics to the Cardinals as needed.

The Cardinals’ 2025 season kicks off at home on Friday, May 16.
